Design Unveiled for £400m ‘World Class’ St Michael’s Tower, Manchester’s First Fully Net-Zero Development

Designs for Manchester City Centre's next landmark development, St Michael’s, have been unveiled, showing how former footballer Gary Neville plans to transform a 1.6 acre plot in the city into a world-class destination for business and leisure.

The project, which will be Manchester’s first fully net-zero development, will see a new 41-storey tower constructed to house a prestigious 162-bed 5-star international hotel operated under Marriott Group’s luxury W Hotel brand, and 217 luxury residences.

The development will also see nine floors of world-class office space made available, with a ‘Peruvian-Japanese’ restaurant, found in Miami and London, set to occupy the building's rooftop.

The St Michael’s development will be split into two phases, with the first phase expected to be completed in 2024. Overall, the scheme is expected to take 180 weeks to complete. Handover of the full project is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
