The Lucerna Travertine Wall Light
Model: KT1007-1
Lucerna is the Italian word for an oil lamp, the small vessel that lit Roman rooms. A rounded block of open, cratered travertine is held 17cm off the wall on a wood bracket, so the stone seems to float in front of it like a lantern.
Unlit, the block shows deep pores and pitting in warm cream and honey. Switched on, light glows through every opening in bright amber flecks and spills softly onto the wall behind, while the wood bracket frames it below. At 13cm wide and 22cm tall it suits a bedside, a hallway or a landing, and works well in pairs either side of a bed or mirror.
The wood bracket comes in Walnut or Natural Oak, and it takes a single E27 bulb. Travertine is a natural stone, so the pores, banding and tone of every block are unique.
