The Campana Alabaster Pendant Light

Campana is Italian for bell, and the shape follows the name. A rounded alabaster dome hangs from a slim black canopy on a fine cable, so the stone carries the whole composition and the fittings almost disappear. The outline is simple and soft, with no hard edges.

Off, the dome reads as pale carved stone with soft veining. On, light passes through the alabaster and the bell glows from within, the veining showing in warmer, deeper tones. Two compact sizes suit a bedside, a hallway or a reading chair, and a row of them works well above a kitchen island.

The metalwork is offered in brass, bronze or black. Each dome is cut from natural alabaster, so veining, tone and translucency vary and no two pieces are alike.
