The Cannelé Alabaster Wall Light

Fluting has been cut into columns for thousands of years. In Cannelé it is carved into a rectangular block of alabaster, so the face of the light is a run of vertical grooves and ridges.
The carving changes how the stone glows. Thinner at each groove and thicker at each ridge, the alabaster lights in fine alternating bands of warm white, with the natural veining running across them. The integrated LED is sized to each block: 30cm for a bedside or a narrow hallway, 45cm for a landing, and 60cm for a stairwell or a tall living room wall.
It mounts directly onto the wall and sits fully flush against it, with no visible metalwork, so only the stone is seen. As alabaster is a natural stone, the veining, tone and translucency of every block are unique.
